Mark Nesci
Principal, NEMA Consulting, Australia
Mark Nesci is an accomplished engineering and business leader with more than three decades of experience spanning energy, resources and industrial sectors. Beginning his career in manufacturing and structural design, he progressed through senior management and national leadership roles across mining infrastructure, power transmission and distribution, hybrid renewable energy and hydrogen-to-power systems.
Mark built a strong foundation in the resources and industrial sectors through senior management, business development and design engineering roles with brand name organisations. He managed multi-disciplinary teams, P&L performance and secured large multimillion dollar D&C mining and infrastructure projects across Australia and overseas, with major mining players. Combining hands-on engineering expertise with commercial leadership and strategic growth planning, he established the technical, financial and stakeholder capabilities that underpin his later success in large-scale energy and renewable infrastructure.
In the renewable energy space, Mark has led large-scale energy transition projects from concept through financial close, integrating solar, wind, BESS and hydrogen technologies for off-grid, mining and industrial applications. His work with global organisations such as Siemens, HDF Energy and Ampcontrol has combined technical design excellence with commercial strategy, driving innovation and investment in clean-energy solutions.
As Principal of NEMA Consulting, Mark provides advisory and development services to clients, focusing on renewable transition pathways, energy efficiency, ESG compliance and financial modelling. His leadership extends to government engagement, building partnerships with state and federal agencies, utilities and First Nations organisations, to progress sustainable energy initiatives.
Mark holds an MBA, certifications in Renewable Energy and Hydrogen Technologies and is completing a Doctor of Engineering. An industry speaker at forums such as SIM-PAC and the Critical Minerals Energy Transition Conference, he contributes to the advancement of Australia’s decarbonisation agenda through his memberships with the Australian Institute of Energy, the Hydrogen Society of Australia and being an Associate Member of Engineers Australia.
