Azadeh is a Director in Deloitte Australia’s Energy and Climate Advisory team. With more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector in different jurisdictions, she is expert in gas and electricity markets as well as decarbonisation pathways/strategies across different sectors of the economy with consideration of carbon prices/taxes, forestation, emerging/clean technologies, fuel switching options in different end-use sectors and new policies. As part of her role, she has assisted multiple government and industry clients to navigate different challenges through this transition such as commercial due diligence and investment in greenfield, Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and power roadmap strategies, policy impact assessment including impact on customer bills, wholesale prices, decarbonisation roadmap and more.

Prior to Deloitte, Azadeh was part of Australian Energy Market Operator’s (AEMO) forecasting team and has significantly contributed to the development of sector- coupling assumptions (such as fuel switching and adoption of new technologies) for the use in key publications such as Integrated System Planning (ISP) and Gas Statement Of Opportunity (GSOO). Azadeh was also involved in some rule change review processes such as gas transparency measures under National Gas Laws (NGL).

Earlier in her carrier, she conducted different market analysis, policy design, environmental analysis, and regulatory reviews in the US market. Coming from Engineering background, she also has led multiple projects such as designing power plants in other jurisdictions.

Outside Deloitte, she is a National Board Director for Australian Institute of Energy (AIE), and she also is with Victorian branch committee. In line with AIE’s mission, Azadeh facilitates professional events in the energy sector to bring industry leaders together for impactful conversations.
