Mr. Agerie Nega Wassihun holds a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources Economics and Management and a Master’s degree in Economics from Mekelle University, Ethiopia. He also earned a Master’s degree in Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation, specializing in Natural Resources Management, from the University of Twente in the Netherlands. He is currently a PhD candidate in Agricultural Economics and Management at Northwest A&F University, China.

Before joining Northwest A&F University, Mr. Agerie served as a Lecturer in the Department of Natural Resources Economics and Management at Mekelle University. He later transferred to the University of Gondar, where he served as an Assistant Professor of Agricultural and Resource Economics. At both universities, his responsibilities included teaching, research, and community service.

His research focuses on climate change adaptation and mitigation across multiple scales, ranging from smallholder farming households to national and cross-country contexts. His primary research interests include climate-smart agricultural practices, renewable energy systems, greenhouse gas emissions, natural resource valuation, and sustainable agricultural intensification. To date, he has published more than 20 articles in international peer-reviewed journals.
