Syed Athar Masood

Dr. Syed Athar Masood is a Professor and Incharge of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology at International Islamic University, Islamabad, with a distinguished academic and professional career. He holds a PhD in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering from Loughborough University, UK, and an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from UET Taxila. Dr. Masood has held key academic positions, including Associate Professor and Chairman at IIU Islamabad, and Assistant Professor at NUST College of E&ME. His industrial experience includes roles at HIT Taxila Cantt. and Usman Textile, Karachi.
He has published extensively in W and Y category journals, with research focused on renewable energy, manufacturing optimization, and transformational leadership in engineering organizations. Dr. Masood has received numerous awards, including the Donald Julius Prize from IMechE, UK, and Best Reviewer’s Award from HEC-Coventry University. He is a life member of the Pakistan Engineering Council and an associate member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, UK.
His expertise spans renewable energy, manufacturing processes, TQM, and engineering management, making him a leading figure in both academia and industry.
